About This Place
Embark on an immersive virtual journey through 7,000 years of Egyptian civilization at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. Begin in the Central Exhibition Hall, where the museum’s architectural design and spectacular views of the surrounding Al-Fustat archaeological area set the stage for your exploration.
Enter the prestigious Royal Mummies Hall, where 22 of Egypt’s greatest pharaohs rest in specially designed, climate-controlled showcases. Meet Ramses II “the Builder King,” the warrior pharaoh Thutmose III, Queen Hatshepsut who ruled as pharaoh, and Seti I with his remarkably preserved features. Each mummy is presented with dignity, accompanied by their sarcophagi and detailed information about their reign and achievements.
Navigate through six thematic galleries: Dawn of Civilization, The Nile, Writing and Sciences, State and Society, Material Culture, and Beliefs and Thinking. Each gallery reveals how Egyptian culture evolved through different eras – from Pharaonic to Coptic Christian to Islamic periods.
Discover artifacts of daily life: ancient textiles, pottery, jewelry, tools, and manuscripts that show how Egyptians lived, worked, and created across millennia. Interactive displays let you decode hieroglyphics, explore virtual tomb reconstructions, and see 3D models of artifacts from every angle.
The virtual tour includes audio commentary from expert Egyptologists, detailed artifact descriptions in multiple languages, and special features highlighting the museum’s most significant treasures and their historical context.
